Thousands of music lovers descended on Bury during Bank Holiday Monday, 25 August 2025, for Glaston-Bury, the annual one day music festival in aid of Bury Hospice and other local causes. Since it began in 2008, the event has raised over £300,000 and has become one of the town’s biggest highlights of the year.

With dozens of acts performing across multiple stages, the town centre was packed with music lovers from morning until late.

Festivalgoers who booked online can head straight to the wristband exchange to skip the queues, while the market area is open to everyone for browsing, food and shopping.

One of the things you don't often see whilst enjoying yourself is a giant, massive deckchair. Now, for these revellers, the excitement got the better of them as they hopped onto the chair, but getting out of the chair was a completely different show altogether.

It was late at night, a day of fun and drinking had been had, and it took about five minutes to get out of the chair.

The tribute took place at 4pm, when the town centre fell into a powerful moment of applause as people clapped and cheered after each name was read out. The event was part of the annual Glaston-BURY festival, which since 2008 has raised more than £300,000 for Bury Hospice and other charities.

This year’s memorial was dedicated to Steve Rogers, known to many as Steve Ferringo, who died in October aged 62 after living with cancer. Rogers, frontman of The Steve Ferringo Band, created Ferringo Fest to support Macmillan and NorthCare following the death of his wife Ange in 2015.

The tribute also remembered Neil Shackleton, Sandra O’Reilly, Phil Dunny, Martin Murphy, Marc Watmough (Happy Mondaze), Keiran Patrick Rafferty, Marc Gorton, Phil Taylor (World Black Pudding Championships), Steve “Sonic Diary” Doyle (Salford FM), Bernard Newsham, Sylvia Young, Lol and Norma Sullivan, Harrison “Big Harry” Rothwell, Mike “The Doctor” Middleton, Mike Peters (The Alarm), Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan.

At 4pm today, Glaston-BURY will invite crowds to honour the late Steve Rogers, better known as Steve Ferringo, alongside a number of other much-loved names. Rogers, who founded Bury’s Ferringo Fest to raise money for Macmillan and NorthCare, died in October aged 62 after battling cancer. His wife Ange had passed away in 2015, inspiring his years of charity work.
