Children are invited to track down hidden books next week in Bury’s libraries and green spaces.
The Look for a Book hunt is the first event in this year’s Greater Manchester Festival of Libraries.
Book packs containing Konnie Huq’s book “Fearless Fairy Tales” will be stashed away in Bury’s four libraries on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May. And, from Tuesday 28 May, library staff will be busy hiding book packs in open spaces and parks all round Bury throughout the half-term week.
If you find a book pack, you can keep the book! Don’t forget to let the library service know, and your name will be added to a prize draw to win the chance to meet Konnie Huq in an exclusive live event at Oldham Library on Saturday 15 June.
Clues will be given out on Bury Libraries’ Facebook page, where you can upload pictures when you find the books – see https://www.facebook.com/BuryLibraries/?locale=en_GB
Konnie Huq said: “I’m thrilled that Fearless Fairy Tales is off on a great adventure of its own around Greater Manchester’s green and community spaces for Look For A Book! I’m proud to be supporting libraries; this is such a fun way to share the range of services and activities they offer. Good luck treasure hunters and I look forward to seeing the winners in June!”
