Nearly 9 out of 10 Bury parents will be sending their child to their first choice of local secondary school come the autumn.
Today is national offer day, when families across the land will discover if their applications have been successful.
Emails will be sent to all parents who applied online, and letters sent to other applicants.
For 2025, Bury received 2,405 applications from Bury residents. Some 2,147 pupils will be heading to their first-choice school in September, or 89% of the total – up 6% from last year.
Councillor John Southworth, deputy cabinet member for children and young people, said “It is a testament to our schools and teaching staff across the borough to see so many young people going to their first choice of school this September. It is also an exciting time for our new school in Radcliffe, as Star Academy is making progress to deliver the best new facilities. I very much look forward to seeing our young people continue to thrive throughout their secondary school education and on into their future careers.”
